If you go far enough back, you'll find me arguing against BSD/Apache-style licensing for the GPL. I have changed my perspective over time: one of the downsides of public writing is when I'm wrong (or ppl think I am), it's always public.

this is a fair point! i think the title ended up having connotations we didn't intend. the idea is that you can't change other people but you can prepare for the ground for them to decide for themselves that they want to change. which I don't think is manipulation
