Using z-depth with synthetic scenes will be a boon for 3D artists to do quick grey boxing or kit bashing, and quickly emulating a render. You have immaculate depth in 3D tools already, why bother with monocular depth estimation? Previously covered here: https://

Synthetic Depth Maps Improve Stable Diffusion Image Generation Quality

Synthetic depth maps are obv much better for details than MiDAS — as shown by BirdForge plugging a z-depth pass from Blender. Love the frosted glass windows and couch creases. Inputting a custom depth channel seriously needs to become an option in the Stable Diffusion web UIs.
