Gary Marcus Challenges Sam Altman’s Moral Claims on Surveillance and Liability
By
–
At this point how can anybody take seriously @sama’s claim that “Working towards prosperity for everyone, empowering all people, and advancing science and technology are moral obligations for me”, when he seems ready to participate in mass surveillance, has ripped off countless creators without compensation, and is now fighting liability for his products even in the event of mass casualty events? Sam Altman (@sama) I wrote this early this morning and I wasn't sure if I would actually publish it, but here it is: blog.samaltman.com/2279512 — https://nitter.net/sama/status/2042738954550603884#m

Getting Started with Hermes Agent and OpenClaw on Old Hardware
By
–
Hermes Agent & OpenClaw PSA: You don't need a Mac Mini (or similarly priced) to get involved. Remember the three R's (Repair, Reuse, Recycle). Find or acquire old kit, and set it up. My first toe-in-the-water was a 2009 Mac Mini that was collecting dust (rebuilt with Lubuntu). Only 2Ghz Core 2 Duo and 4GB ram. I put an old SSD in it, and started trying OpenClaw. The joy was sparked from there. Have since moved to another older PC that I had, a Dell Micro 3040 (Intel 6100T based), and it's working great now. Does pretty much everything I need it to do, and this machine hosts both an OpenClaw agent team, and a Hermes Agent instance. It's been so much fun, and you can always VPS, but extra enjoyment is thrown in from getting new life out of these old devices, and in such a modern way. Loving agentic AI and these platforms!

He has been building this for years.
I got a demo. It is stunning.
And is the platform that will bring us infinite realities.
I call it the Holodeck. https://t.co/NdEFfaZBloThe founder of Niantic built Google Earth. He has been building this for years. I got a demo. It is stunning. And is the platform that will bring us infinite realities. I call it the Holodeck. Niantic Spatial 🌎 (@NianticSpatial) Most digital twin investments stall for one reason: They’re not grounded in how the world actually looks today. Niantic Spatial’s Reconstruction capability fixes this, creating a living, machine-readable 3D model that stays in sync with reality, so every system, team, and workflow operates from the same ground truth. In a new blog by Trista Pierce, Business Development Lead, explore how Scaniverse’s Reconstruction technology changes the cadence entirely. Garry Tan turned his 10,000+ markdown files into the brain of an Agent and open-sourced it, calling it GBrain—pretty interesting stuff. I did a quick AI-assisted dive into the code. The core idea: One markdown page per person, one per company. The top half lays out your most
