Wouldn't be surprised if they soon do. But:
a) It seems likely that watermarked or detectable text can be (auto?) paraphrased into something that is no longer detectable
b) Watermarking wouldn't affect whatever future powerful open-source models that choose not to watermark

It's a confluence of factors, but ML Twitter has felt much less enjoyable recently.
1. Elon Twitter and associated changes;
2. The rise of hype and "AI influencers"; and importantly,
3. Marked increase in toxicity and personal attacks.

Math and Computing Contests Among Researchers: 75% Participation Rate

I've noticed a lot of researchers participated in math or computing contests. These results show that 75% of researchers who had the opportunity to participate did so. Not surprising, since both contests and research are beyond regular academic expectations.
