Reminds me of something my dad once told me: work doesn't have to be fun/rewarding. That's why the call it "work." It's amazing if you can get paid for something you love, but not everyone has that luxury. Bills must be paid….

I understand. It stinks. There's collateral damage and it sounds like you're part of that. It's not quite the same thing but it's all part of the larger open source sustainability question. As an industry we don't have great answers for it (at the corporate or individual level)
