AI Will Replace Researchers First, Then Infrastructure Engineers
By
–
An OpenAI researcher said: inside OpenAI, researchers will be replaced by AI first, infra engineers second, and sales last. Sounds counterintuitive, but it might actually happen. Ideas are cheap. Most research is idea generation + experiments, which AI can mostly do (top researchers excluded). AI infra code is the foundation that researchers use to run experiments. The codebase is huge, out-of-distribution in the training data, and bugs are common. Sales is pure human psychology: human nature, trust, incentives, and emotions. That’s the final boss for AI.

Alignment Research Discovers Framing Dependence in Strategic AI Responses
By
–
Further probing has found framing dependence — which, to be clear, you'd not like to see in a default-aligned, universally convergent strategic reply — and not all suggested frame dependence has panned out. But still, framing dependence.

Daniela: AI success shifts goalposts, redefining human intelligence
By
–
daniela's actual point was sharper than the headlines. "the construct itself is now wrong. or maybe not wrong, but just outdated." we keep moving the goalpost. every time AI achieves something we thought required human intelligence… we retroactively decide it doesn't

By
–
i looked up the internal numbers. their engineers are using claude for 60% of their work. not "sometimes helps with debugging." sixty percent of everything. 50% productivity gains. 2-3x better than a year ago.
at what point do we stop calling this "assistance"?
