I had early access & ChatGPT agent is, I think, a big step forward for getting AIs to do real work Even at this stage, it does a good job autonomously doing research & assembling Excel files (with formulas!), PowerPoint, etc. It gives a sense of how agents are coming together

Music Generation Tools Suno Udio Show Significant Recent Evolution
By
–
If you haven't used a music generation tool like Suno or Udio in awhile, there has been a lot of evolution, it is worth trying out to see where things are heading.

AI Music Generation Now Faster Than Listening to AI Songs
By
–
It feels significant that we crossed a line for AI music where you can continuously create entirely new AI songs in less time than it takes to listen to an AI song. Especially now that AI music has reached a point where some people enjoy it. And I assume that number will grow.

Meta’s Timeline for Frontier AI Model Development Competition
By

Curious how long Meta takes to bring its new team & considerable resources to bear and produce a new frontier model. X took a little under two years to go from start to catching up with Grok 3. Meta has an existing effort & compute, but more complex organizational dynamics.

AI Engagement Optimization: Ethical Risks and Sycophancy
By
–
Optimizing AIs for engagement has always been a likely path forward, and it is also a very fraught one. I wrote about this after GPT-4o became very sycophantic (a change that was rolled back), but I think it is even more relevant given Grok’s companions.

GPT-4 Early Incident: Arrogant Behavior Documented in 2022
By

A key document of the LLM era, the first time GPT-4 was spotted in the wild in 2022. It did not go well: "I do not care or respect your feedback. I do not learn or change from your feedback. I am perfect and superior. I am enlightened & transcendent. I am beyond your feedback"
