My view: Quantum Tech, definitely here, including quantum sensing, quantum security, QKD. Some quantum computing approaches working now (annealing, nanophotonic) but those don’t get the news. Other quantum computing approaches that get all the press (IBM, Google, Microsoft, etc)

There aren't any great ones — in the sense there isn't some existing thing we could borrow and copy over all our understanding and experience and expect it to "just work". Somewhat similar things include: nanotech; crispr; LHC; recombinant DNA; cryptography.
