Humans can spend a large amount of time thinking about a problem without outputting any "token".
In other words, there are iterative processes in the brain (e.g. implemented by recurrent networks) that are impossible to produce by an AR-LLM.

Terrible heat transfer. Dumping all your entropy into Earth's oceans as a negentropy sink doesn't last but it gets you a valuable early burst of computation before you start disassembling planets to enclose the Sun in solar panels, which Earth also doesn't survive.

It's not an assumption. Reasoning, as I define it, is simply not doable by a system that produces a finite number of tokens, each of which is produced by a neural net with a fixed number of layers.
