Yes. Can we require environmental impact assessments before any AI design can go public? Where companies demonstrate long term protection of water etc? Where people say “companies won’t like that” or “policy makers are too slow..” Those answers don’t work anymore.

Orgs like @UptimeInstitute have done excellent reporting on how only 39% of data centers (2022 report) report on water usage. The logic for this, from DC owners is “there’s no regulation or business incentive to report” said water usage. Again, I don’t u destined.
