lol at two weeks. In Austria you get 5 weeks + ~13 holiday days. We unified this across folks around the world at my old company, so the US folks were usually freakin out, some other spots in Europe saw it as downgrade.

I can see this perspective, but ironically it seems like a negative to me. Incentivizes pushing grad students out the door, whether they feel they're ready to go or not. I'm really thankful my advisor let me stay for 6 years. What side do other folks here fall on?
