AI as Software Process Not Conscious Entity Anthropomorphism
By
–
I think a lot of the problem is that people see AI as an entity, rather than a software process that runs on text to produce an output. Entities remember what they see, even if they pretend they are keeping secrets. Anthropomorphism can be a problem at times!

Not yet — will do so as soon as someone hosts it. I don’t feel like spinning up GPUs rn lol

LLM Privacy Concerns: Training Data Usage and Enterprise Trust
By
–
Privacy still comes up as a big issue when I talk to firms about AI. But the privacy risk is if your inputs are used as training data. Of course, all the big LLMs have plans where they agree not to do that. People are suspicious of LLMs in way they aren't for other cloud apps.

Building AI with Universal Physical Understanding
By

Looking forward to my @TEDTalks on building #AI with universal physical understanding. Excited to announce our recent works building the foundations for such a model. Language models have shown impressive capabilities with universal text understanding capabilities, but they are

Yeah, it’s real. This is just the start. Wait till @teknium releases his tune 🙂 Many GPT-4-beating LLMs will be open-sourced in the coming weeks

Microsoft WizardLM 2 and Reka Multimodal LLM Released
By
–
Big day for unexpectedly powerful LLM releases. Microsoft's open source WizardLM 2 (also note that it used synthetic inputs in training, maybe "running out of data" will not be a big deal): https://

Infini-attention: Google’s approach to infinite context in LLMs
By
–
Can LLMs have infinite context? Researchers from Google say yes. A new paper proposed Infini-attention, which lets LLMs have infinite context. How Infini-attention works:
• has local attention like any transformer
• has global attention via compression
• combines local and
