The math I studied at college didn't really work for me. Metamathematics (via philosophy) was one of the few courses I found helpful/interesting, but the vast majority of the math I've learned has been post-college.

i half agree, but what they write / how they think are so closely linked – i don't know what I think until i write half the time!

OTOH it's foundational skills you learn just once, and can then re-use for the rest of your life. I put in the time to learn them 30 years ago, and it's still paying off every day today. 🙂
