It was actually your tweet last week about firms trading off the "power" of the open source moniker that finally pushed me to write. I think you mistake what people are interested in: OSS as shorthand for "free as in cost and easy to access." The license isn't the thing.

the reality is that we started working on that project organically without thinking (enough) about how we would like to license it that's what @ClementDelangue says too: we made a licensing mistake and wanted to correct it early rather than wait more and be stuck with it
