Also why do people equate AGI to singularity/doomsday scenario? These are different things all together. You can get AGI without singularity or singularity without AGI, no? There’s already a smarter human than all others and she/he/they haven’t taken over or destroyed the world!

Defining AGI: Super-human Capabilities and Current Limitations

Have we agreed on the definition of AGI? If it’s having SOME super-human capabilities, computers were already AGI (better at calculating, remembering and retrieving information than humans). If it’s having ALL super-human capabilities, we’re pretty far from it (ex willpower/body)
