Love this paper; augmenting computation with non-Turing processes; something that most likely occurs in all living systems. This is long term research; don't think about it in terms of immediate applications; it is exploring wild new spaces. @denizzokt

Remote drivers and monitoring: Fake it till you make it in autonomous services
By
–
All of these services use remote drivers and are constantly monitored by people. And in any case they do not drive on roads which is what I am talking about. Fake it till you make it is alive and well. And rampant.

LLMs Could Generate Future Religions Through Automation
By
–
Someone will openly use an LLM to generate a religious/C-anon text and it will become a dominant belief system for millennia with fighting, division, and death; we already know that consistency and rationality is not needed.L. Ron Hubbard, you've been automated!

Tesla FSD Fails in Snow: Not Truly Autonomous Driving
By
–
A fan using Tesla FSD in snowy weather in Detroit. I'll stop posting now about this–it's like shooting fish in a barrel. The point is it is not FSD by any normal human understanding of what "fully", "self", and "driving" mean.

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving May Be Failure But Not Fraud Says Lawyers
By
–
Tesla’s Full Self-Driving…may be a failure, Tesla lawyers admit–but it’s not a fraud. DMV and Tesla…emails in 2019 and 2020…confirm company’s FSD mode…was a Level 2 technology. With Level 2 a company isn’t required to report crashes to the DMV.

Smart People Deceived by AI Hype, Says Rodney Brooks
By
–
Smart friends are being completely fooled by the current baubles. A recurring pattern that I have seen played over and over for the 50 years that I've been professionally involved in AI. The wish to believe is intense, and there is no convincing otherwise. The new #AI illiterati.

Investors Growing Impatient With Autonomous Vehicle Development Progress
By
–
Markets eventually speak: "After years of ambitious targets and bold promises, investors are growing impatient with the pace of driverless-car development, applying pressure on an industry … accustomed to latitude and piles of cash from investors."
