I don't know where in the world you could get an instant consultation with a production engineer to debug a print run with ~$10 of materials on the line *and* have that engineer express some empathy for you when he's done with the evaluation.

Manufacturing Community Lacks Formal Documentation and Organization
By

They're also very underdocumented. (In what is surely a first in the history of manufacturing.) The community is spread between various Facebook groups and Discords, and writes little down formally. Most recorded lore is in YouTube videos, and aimed at low-skill enthusiasts.

LLMs Excel at Complex Multi-Domain Problem Debugging
By
–
In today's very surprising example of things an LLM could be good at: I had a print failure while running a resin print in the wee hours of the morning. Debugging these is a bit maddening. They arise from a combination of software, math, chemistry, and unpredictable chaos.

Redefining Safety: Context-Dependent Meaning in AI Discourse

I am using the quotation marks not as sarcasm but because the conception of “safety” has a meaning different than the typical usage for this contingent.

Safety Advocates Demand Feature Veto Power Social Networks
By
–
No; I think there is a contingent outside and inside social networks which puts a lot of points into “safety” and wants a de facto veto over features they think are “unsafe”, and failing to immediately follow users’ instructions regarding an unfollow or block would be “unsafe.”

Twitter Contract Considerations: Protecting Mental Health Online
By

I have considered a few times having an explicit public or private Contract with Twitter, mostly for avoiding the brain damage. It didn’t used to be hard but has gotten harder for me in last ~2 years, and not obviously in response to anything I think I am doing differently.

Strategic Leadership Needed for SDR Hiring Pipeline Management

This does not necessarily imply a company decreases relative headcount in Sales but it might need some actual strategic leadership to keep hiring SDRs at a sufficient rate to have AEs in future.

SDR Apprenticeships Face Devaluation While AE Roles Become More Leveraged
By
–
I think there are going to be some interesting pinches in the pipeline in that field along with some others, where the SDR apprenticeship work becomes vastly less valuable while AEing stays very valuable and potentially becomes more leveraged.

LLMs Train Better Writing Habits Through Low-Cost Iteration
By
–
I think people *might* operationalize better habits after LLMs train them that throwing away a paragraph is basically costless.

Writing Multiple Drafts with Different Voices and Arguments
By
–
One thing that I tried, with very limited success, to get people to do is to be less attached to words on a page. Writing an essay? Write two very different takes on it; different diction, different voice, maybe even different argument. Then pick the one which speaks to you.
