I agree with that (and have noted it constantly over the years). On the other hand, I guess it *is* fair game to count SaaS as "cloud." Just happens that AWS hasn't been very good at that part while the others have. It's all gamesmanship though.

On vs code, quite possibly. But it's Google that really shines in open sourcing big, influential projects that become community property. Not a strength yet for AWS (or Microsoft). But who knows? Things change. I'm an optimist.
