It was actually your tweet last week about firms trading off the "power" of the open source moniker that finally pushed me to write. I think you mistake what people are interested in: OSS as shorthand for "free as in cost and easy to access." The license isn't the thing.

Don't use my words against me! (I do think "shared source" is fine. The downside to it is that its origin (under a less loved Microsoft) gave it a pejorative connotation. The denotation is fine. The connotation is soured. But maybe could be improved?

The bigger problem on our page is the hyphen. I don't call it OSS but I also have never had a developer (besides non-users of the software on Twitter) say it kept them from doing what they wanted with the code (use it).
