Thanks and really interesting. I think it’s critical to also recognize the external forces that can inspire or harm innate human / physiological states or biology to avoid what here feels a bit like “blame the human” to me. This logic can be leveraged to remove human agency.

AI Regulation Requires Sacrifice and Environmental Consciousness
By
–
But nature keeps calling us to simply be. In Her presence. But Her call is not gentle. And the sacrifice She makes due to us mean so many species have died. So many parts of Her. Nonetheless, “AI regulation” is most challenging because we have to die to self.

AI Regulation Through Human Connection and Nature Acknowledgment
By
–
New idea for AI regulation – start every meeting with a Land Acknowledgment then a people acknowledgment. Have every person on a call / in a meeting say how they connect with nature. Then we regulate connection with others, not as a mandate but as invitation.

Sacred Humility: Ethics of Forgiveness and Growth
By
–
What is sacred? Humility and restoration to place. To planet. To people. Asking forgiveness is not weakness. It’s an invitation to let go of rage and avarice and fear. It’s an honest vulnerability that may get rejected by people not ready yet for their own growth.

Addressing Colonialism and Extractive Capitalism in AI Regulation
By
–
Trying to figure out how AI “regulation” can move forward w/any holistic efficacy if colonialism, greed, & extractive capitalism aren’t overtly addressed. Words matter. Avoiding “elephant in the room” subjects means accepting the norms and ultimately impacts of those pachyderms.

Virtue Ethics and Regulation as Solution to Planetary Crisis
By
–
The ONLY way through our planetary crisis is virtue ethics ensconced in law and regulation. Big or small government, allocation of resources either goes to the few or many. The Planet is prioritized FIRST in design or “innovation” as framed in exponential growth economics.

Challenging Neoclassical Economics Logic in AI Ethics
By
–
It’s also VERY easy to justify greed when prioritizing neo-classical (aka metaphorical) rationality, ESP with economics. PLEASE read the first chapter of @KateRaworth
’s Doughnut Economics for a SPLENDID evisceration of the BS “we are one man on an island” logic for economics. -
Kindness and Care as Essential Human Needs in AI Ethics
By
–
Also – kindness for self and others ultimately is about the human, physiological need for care. This is positive psychology, an empirical science. Ignoring this to prioritize rationality, only Western ideals of democracy deny non western realities and mental health overall.
