I believe the company’s human designers write algorithms designed to make human users believe the outputs of those algorithms sound like human speech to inspire people feeling the outputs are conversational. So the tool exists. No sentient person is providing answers.

If I built a car & said, “this vehicle was built using information that may be inaccurate regarding physics, safety, or environmental protections” I wouldn’t let it drive you or your family. Yet lots of people creating these tools want them to drive society knowing these errors.

On the opening disclosure page for all LLMs, language like: “Thanks for using (product name). Our designers use first person pronouns in algorithms to create a sense you’re speaking to a human. However, please remember this is a predetermined response versus an actual human.”
