When using Solveit I spend a lot of time in flow state. I think just most tools aren't really well designed to help humans get to and stay in that state.

Not at all interested in that product. I just want direct access to on-demand computers, like you guys used to provide.

On-Demand Computing Infrastructure for AI Competition Entry

There's none available. On-demand is the only useful/usable option for most people. E.g if you want to run your entry to OpenAI's new competition you need a machine for 15 mins or so.

APL Right-to-Left Precedence Challenges for Language Models
By
–
One thing I wonder about APL is whether the right-to-left precedence would cause problems for an LLM. In practice folks tend to write APL using a number of steps of creating small blocks then building them up. Perhaps LLMs need some tooling to help them…

No, numpy has some overlaps with APL, but it's a vastly different programming model.

AI struggles transferring coding knowledge across programming languages
By
–
Very reasonable! But isn't that kinda the point of this discussion? AI can't take what it knows about coding in languages with lots of data, and re-use it for coding in a different language effectively. Even if I add reference docs, examples, etc to prompt context.

LLMs struggle to generate useful APL code effectively
By
–
I think there's a fair reaction. OTOH, when using LLMs with APL, which is an extremely efficient and well-designed language, AI is hasn't been able to create any useful code at all for me so far. So their conclusions may be correct anyway…

It's more like saying a knife, although useful, cannot design a building.

The combination of skepticism of anything containing the word "AI" plus skepticism of anything containing the word "Australia" is pretty tough… 😉
