Review will probably be ignored. If change is needed, it should be done at the community level, not the paper level. Most harmful part is *forcing* authors to opine publicly on a charged political topic that many vulnerable folks (students, etc.) would prefer not to comment on

I remember the 19 year old Chinese student in San Diego a few years ago who did a Clubhouse room on the China census results. Some trolls reported him, doxxed him, spammed his IG and reported him to police so his parents in China got a warning visit.
