One could hypothetically scrape all of dblp. Might be some challenges with stale data or affiliations with multiple names etc.

I think collecting the data is the major challenge. Ironically, despite the data being crowdsourced, and initially taken from someone else's repo, I believe it is against the license terms to fork that data (I am not a lawyer, so what do I know)

I would say from the notion of data efficiency or minimal amount of cofounders behind your data. Like using text only to learn some navigation tasks (in big bench) sounds suboptimal to me But yeah of course science is fractal and everything can be considered scientific somehow:)
