Hard to go from personal example to general rule but as a counter, I don't think I ever consistently worked crazy hours and did ok so far

Enormous difference. I tell you this from my expertise as a computational linguist. And yes, we need transparency — anytime someone has encountered synthetic media that should be immediately apparent. But also: Synthetic text extruding machines have no place in journalism.

Sorry, when you say "associated contexts" do you mean it's showing you the region of the document that the string was found in? If so, fine. If not: don't use synthetic text in journalism. It is not factual. It is not information. And it undermines everything you are doing.
