Before GPT-4, there was ELIZA: the computer therapist chatbot written by Joseph Weizenbaum at MIT’s AI Lab in 1966.

Weizenbaum initially intended to capture & demonstrate shallow communications between machines and humans.

Human Bias: Judging Others Harshly, Ourselves Leniently

This is emblematic of human behaviour more broadly. We see the best in ourselves, but the worst in others. If reviewers don't respond, they are lazy or ignorant. If we don't respond, it's justified since this week was just so crazy busy! But both are the same people.
