That seems to me to be the big problem! There's so much competition out there when it comes to payments that no one vendor can be expected to own the full stack. Feels like other smaller rivals are coming in with competitive offerings as well. So there's no room for complacency.

"Lock in" is the most overly used, and least useful, term we use in tech. Or one of them. Pretty much every vendor uses it to refer to Something Bad™ that other vendors will do to them…even as they do it, too (just in different ways). All tech choices bring "lock in"
