Imagen was released right after DALL-E2, and in their tests with human raters, it outperformed DALL-E2. Stable Diffusion is of course the most useful one as it is open source and people can build on top of it.

At least within the context of the areas we work in, I don't really see the issue with that. If there are novel scientific contributions, which were created by the authors (potentially coerced from an LLM), and they are willing to take responsibility for it, seems fine to me.
