Are you referring to the acceptance rate? It was 37%. Seems relatively high, compared to ML conferences. But STOC/FOCS are incredibly self selective.

Verification officially marks that "an account of public interest is authentic." Most people want verification because it makes them seem important/better than other ppl. This changes the semantic meaning: X paid $8/month. Is the hope people will conflate with the previous one?
