Chat interface has overinfluenced builders. Just because it is traditional and relatively easy to spec out doesn't mean it is the ideal way to integrate into existing/wider software suite.

Bootstrappers Gain Edge Designing LLM-Native Solutions From Scratch
By
–
Because boostrappers are much more nimble than existing market, you can reasonably be on leading edge of "What does a solution in X space look like *if it is designed from the ground up in the knowledge that LLMs exist*, as opposed to shoehorning LLMs into a single screen?"

AI Product Strategy: Bootstrappers Should Build Downstream of Labs
By

AI as product: Difficult for bootstrappers to keep up with the labs on LLM/etc development. Very, very tractable to make something downstream of the labs.

How Bootstrapped SaaS Companies Are Deploying AI in Production
By
–
Rob did informal survey of a few hundred TinySeed companies (he runs a VC/accelerator which invests in many bootstrapped-adjacent software companies) to see how its actually getting deployed in production. Taxonomy: six-ish ways that companies actually metabolizing it.

Rob Walling on Using AI in SaaS at MicroConf
By

Next up at MicroConf: @robwalling on How to use AI in SaaS. This has been something of an undercurrent in a lot of conversations here. Lots of unease and anxiety about it, and IMHO a bit overblown w/r/t impact on SaaS specifically. With that, Rob:

Growth Is the Dominant Factor in Startup Valuation
By
–
Einar: Growth is dominant factor in valuation. DOMINANT FACTOR. If you can fix nothing else, fix this. Me: Conversely, and many founders miss this: you want to sell before you plateau, not after. Einar: In particular, 20% annual growth is a breakpoint.

Startup Founders Should Wait for $2M ARR Before Selling
By
–
Einar: If you're at $1.7M and growing and want to sell, please *wait until $2M.* Much better competitive landscape for you. Similar discontinuities at $5M and $10M.
-
ARR Thresholds Drive Startup Valuation Step-Up at $1-2M
By
–
Einar: ARR impacts valuation. More buyers, not fewer, as ARR increases (up to tens of million in ARR), because less dominant frictional costs to integrate you. There is large step-up in valuation at about $1M to $2M in ARR versus just a few hundred thousand south.

Using AI to Extract Blog Posts From Interviews Efficiently
By
–
Similarly I think there are a lot of interviews/etc which have a blog post that can get extracted out of them and I think an AI can do a very good first cut of that blog post before you give it to a junior marketer for polish/human touch/etc.

AI as Force Multiplier for Podcast Transcripts
By
–
Me: AI a really good force multiplier in addition to being an editor. If you have a podcast you should definitely have a transcript (a strong opinion I have, held by relatively few podcasters because it is historically difficult to do it well). AI is *very good* as a tool here.
