probably because they want it to be the antithesis to the phone. but it seems like one is needed imo, most real mediums don't disappear they become complimentary (just like how computers did not obsolete books, the laptop did not obsolete the desktop, and so-on)

Yeah, there's definitely a balance. Something I think about often is how the Apple 1 was carved out of a wooden box. It was nice for what it needed to be, but it also proved the business and paved the way for much nicer products ahead.

Somehow missed that Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses have "Meta AI" (Llama 2?) Controlling the device & asking it questions like ChatGPT is the obvious thing, but this form factor is perfect for vision once Meta AI goes multimodal. It knows exactly what you're looking at.
