Having said that, a lot of folks clearly just think the non-profit was kinda dumb, and that instead the focus should have been on supporting the commercial org. But even if that were true, non-profit boards don't have the power to decide to ignore their mission.

It's also a misunderstanding of what many opponents want. e.g I would love to see high-risk deployments, regardless of underlying model size, regulated thoughtfully. There's been loads of hugely negative consequences of high risk deployments of small models.
