Yup great job of iterative product improvement. People at most companies would be proud of that. Not really anything much to show towards achieving the organization's mission however.

The idea that "OpenAI’s leadership coup could slam brakes on growth" makes no sense to me. @OpenAI is now the most well-funded AI research lab in the world, by far, and is totally focussed on developing beneficial AGI. Hasn't p(success) *increased*?

Of course, if they didn't do these things, maybe OpenAI wouldn't have raised much money at all, and would be a lame duck in trying to achieve their mission. Like I said: governance is hard.

I do think OpenAI made many governance mistakes. Having someone from the VC world run it, and having a fintech expert as the CTO, and then hiring people on the basis their compensation would be tied to profits, are all gonna make things even harder!
